Ed is a husband and father of two, having moved to San Leandro in 2004, has been very active in the community completing his education at the University of San Francisco (MS) and previously at Cal State East Bay (MBA) and his undergraduate degree at Cal State Long Beach. Ed is a 1st generation American, the first to go to college in his family, where his parents immigrated from Mexico in the 70s and since then have become U.S. Citizens; he is also the oldest of three children (two sisters) and a cousin to many who were born or immigrated as youth in the United States at a young age.
